To make the tag, I used another of my very favourite techniques. This one involves limes or lemons.

1. cut your limes and lemons in half. Set one half aside to dry out overnight. Squeeze the other into a glass and top up with ice, and gin & tonic or mojitos. Relax.

2. next day, use your applicator tool to ink the dry surface of the fruit. If you press hard, some of the juice will leak out and blur the print, this may or may not be what you want. Best to practise on some scrap paper first.

3. Press the fruit carefully onto the paper.

I also used Tims' umbrella man on a piece of plastic packaging, I just love this stamp and would use it everywhere if I could.

OK, this is my favourite tag EVER that I have EVER made. EVER.

Partly because I am a complete Dr Who fan and partly because I just love this technique. But mostly the fan part.

ANYWHO (see what I did there?) here's the tag....

Here's the link to the song (just listen for the first little bit, Jim Morrison was a whack job and the song goes pear-shaped after a while). The lyrics are under the song so I won't re-post them.

Now -- about the tag.

I made it by first colouring the tag using Broken China, Peeled Paint, and Dusty Concord Distress Ink pads.

Then I spritzed with some bleach in a Mini-Mister. This gives SUCH a cool look!!

I printed images of the TARDIS and the Doctor off the net, and cut round them, inking the edges, and popped the Doctor with foam tape.

On the other side, I used stamps from my 7G steampunk set, and a JB from a swap.

I love how the bleach affects the ink, this is such a great technique and really easy but DON'T WEAR YOUR GOOD CLOTHES just in case.

A SONG TO GO TO SLEEP TO

I can remember a long, long time ago, falling asleep to this song in my best friends' arms. It was a really hot summers' night, and we had the window open and the curtain blowing in the breeze.
So I wanted to re-capture that memory in this tag.

I used paint, and a silver pen to make the night sky, and then hand-cut the window and cat from black cardstock.
The curtains were made from scraps of muslin, which I dipped in a light PVA/water mix, to stiffen and shape.

The back is made from GB paper and Kaiser alpha stickers.

A SONG THAT REMINDS YOU OF AN EVENT

This is what we played as my sons' coffin was carried from church to go to the cemetery. SO obviously, it's very very dear to me.
The guys from church sang this originally, and I spent quite some time looking for a singer who didn't feel the need to try and 'improve' the song with their wobbly I'm-a-diva voice.
I think Nana does a beautiful job, allowing the beauty and passion of this song to come through.

About the tag...

I inked the front firstly, using Mustard Seed Distress Ink, and then used a scrap of muslin sent to me by my friend Terri.
The wings were from a RAK sent to me by the amazing Emma Allen, and I cut the hearts using a Sullivans' punch. I inked the edges with Fired Brick and Spiced Maramalade Distress Inks, and then stamped the butterfly on. The label was made with my trusty Dymo.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST

ANT Music by ADAM AND THE ANTS

omg I had the BIGGEST crush on Stuart Goddard (Adam) -- totally loved his clothes and make-up, and this was one of my favourite songs.

For the front, I wanted to try and capture the whole costume thing he had going on, so I used black plastic from a shopping bag and fashioned a 'jacket', and added the Fastenator staples and ruffle.
The charm and ribbon came next (charm purchased from my2angels) and then I raided my daughters' Barbie box, looking for a doll with suitable hair to steal.
ALL THE HAIR WAS BLONDE, except for one, and it was snarled into a massive cloud. SO I had to untangle it with conditioner, THEN glue and wrap it around a pencil to get the curl.
I added the little skull and crossbones charm (again from my2angels) and ta-dah! done.
Now for the back.

Cleverly, I decided to heat emboss the back. And the heat transferred through the tag and shrank the plastic and made it all bubbly and I had to do some massive repairs.
Really, I should have just started all over again, but I just didn't have the time. So here it is, in all its' flawed glory.

At least the song is still good.

To make the tag, on the question side I used a scrap of 7G paper, a die-cut journalling spot, and my Dymo.
On the other side, I altered a photo in Photoshop, by de-saturating a little, and adding part of the lyrics.

Now, if you're interested in how I made the tags, I used Tims' Distress Ink (Broken China and Chipped Sapphire) with a blending tool, then dabbed straight bleach on with some paper towel.
I added birds with my trusty black pen, and alpha stickers (Kaisercraft) and the balloon (sent to me by a friend).
I then drove myself utterly insane by trying to glue a single strand of cotton down while sitting under a fan.

I used Tims' Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink, then lightly spritzed some black/silver Glimmermist over top.
And I used one of Tims' stamps with black archival ink over top of that.

I then inked and misted and stamped an oval of paper, and DMd it into the locket, but it went so dark you can barely see the stamping. However I really like how it looks a bit like a sapphire and also I didn't have another locket to re-do it!!

these are tags for the 52 Questions series at AD.

WHAT DO I DO OVER AND OVER?

the criteria for this was RESIST so I stamped the skull and crossbones onto white paper with clear embossing ink, then used clear embossing powder and heat set it.
I then inked over the image with Black Soot Distress Ink, and wiped it off the skull carefully.
The ink won't stick to the embossed image.

PAINT IN WORDS YOUR PERFECT DAY

The criteria included

use a tag or JB from a swap
use paint

so for the answer side, I dribbled black paint on a dictionary page, then layered 7G tape onto a piece of scrap paper, drew a heart on it with black pen, and cut out the shape. I put the JB over top of that and made a little hole protector for the top as well.
For the question side, I used Jersey foam stamps from MM, and Fired Brick Distress Ink to stamp a title. I added some Kaiser alpha stickers, and backed the JB with more 7G tape.

To do this, I used a number of T!m Holtz techniques and/or products. The background paper is from Kaisercraft, the orange paper is We Are Memory Keepers (both scraps) and I've also used some book pages.

T!ms' Heart Wings die came in handy, I used crackle paint, distress inks and embossing powders, and a gold embossing powder to get the sparkle.

I used a piece of mica for something clear.

The ribbon is from my new top, and the hand stamp is from 7Gypsies (steampunk).

I also got to use the Dymo labeller I got for Christmas!

My friend asked me to give her a hand to make some wedding invites etc, and so we've been doing this till the wee small hours.
All of the designs are her ideas, I just lent a hand threading buckles onto ribbon etc.
So far we've made the invites, stamped envelopes, made up some teabag/coffee pockets, and a tag to go on the box that will hold it all.
LOVELY to be working on wedding stuff! It makes me smile (:

This week, the Drunken Stampers challenge was to do something using TIME and VINTAGE.

I was dead sure I had the T!m clock-y mask but no -- and no 'time' stamps of any description either. Thank goodness for rub-ons, then! (these are by Imaginisce)
And some watch parts I've had forever and a day.
There IS ink on this card -- only along the edges though! I really need some time-y type stamps. And some small alphas.

If you haven't played along with the Drunken Stampers, you should. They really challenge you!

This weeks' challenge from Drunken Stampers involves coffee! WOOHOO!! I drink gallons every day so I felt quite qualified to make a card celebrating the wonders of caffeine!
I used:
a Kaisercraft shape from the Devonshire range
a cup cut from a decorating magazine
Inkadinkadoo inchie flourish stamps
Versacube Pinecone ink
a coffee filter & more ink
a scrap of brown Bazzill
a scrap of spotty paper from my stash

Regular Drunken Stampers might note that I used something from the kitchen (coffee filter- last weeks' challenge) and a magazine cutting (week before lasts' challenge)
I didn't set out to do that deliberately, it just kind of happened.

I made this LO for my June challenge over at Hybrid Designs Scrapbooking. I did the snowman by following Tim Holtzs' 12 tags of Christmas 2008 instructions. The 'snow' was lots of fun (MESSY AS) -- actually the whole thing was fun, I loved using so many arty supplies.
The snowflake paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle.
The snowman is Tims' grungeboard, and I used crackle paint and distress inks to colour him up.

The snow is made from

1 part white UTEE
2 parts clear UTEE
1 part glass glitter
1 scoop perfect pearls (use a craft stick)

and enough Glossy Accents to mix together.

It sticks like MORTAR LOL you dont want to use a good bowl to mix it in, and he says 'wear gloves' for a reason....
